Bayern Munich suffered a 3-2 home loss to Bochum, despite going ahead by two goals.

A missed penalty and red card in the first half cost the Bavarians, despite Raphael Guerreiro’s brace in the first half.

Meanwhile, the visitors took advantage of the one-man deficit, to clinch all three points against the league leaders.

Vincent Kompany’s side opened the lead early, as Guerreiro fired home in the 14th minute.

The hosts almost made it 2-0 few minutes after when Jakov Medic fouled Leroy Sane in the box. However, Serge Gnabry missed the penalty, hitting the post.

The hosts later doubled their advantage in the 28 minute as Thomas Muller cushioned Hiroki Ito’s cross for Guerreiro to finish.

Bochum tried fighting back as Medic reduced the deficit after drilling in from the edge of the box to make it 2-1.

The game became opened for the visitors as Bayern were reduced to 10 men in the 42nd minute. Joao Palhinha was shown a straight red card for a late challenge on Giorgos Masouras.

Bochum continued their fight for the leveller and it paid off as they equalised six minutes into the second half. Ibrahima Sissoko made it 2-2, heading home Felix Passlack’s cross at the far post.

The visitors then completed a remarkable turnaround 19 minutes from time, with Masouras dummying Philipp Hofmann’s pass for Matus Bero to finish.

Meanwhile, the Bochum’s loss is the hosts’ first loss in 11 matches across all competitions. The Bavarians also had their 10-league match winning streak on home soil come to an abrupt end.
