England have reached the knock-out stages of the Fifa Women’s World Cup, where they will face Nigeria in the round of 16. The Lionesses goalkeeper Mary Earps claims that as they get ready for the Women’s World Cup knockout stages, they have no fear at all. The Lionesses would face Nigeria at Brisbane in the last-16 on August 7.

After their 6-1 victory over China in Adelaide on Tuesday, the Fifa Best Goalkeeper of the Year Earps said: “I’m happy to see some goals go in, and for us to be able to express ourselves and let our creativity shine.”

Following Germany’s unexpected elimination on Thursday, England is currently the highest-ranked team left in half of the draw. However, before that shocking error by the European champions, Earps added:

“I don’t think we fear anyone in general anyway. I think our qualities have shown through in however many months and years we’ve been playing together, so I think we’re in a good spot.

“The proof is what happens come on game day, and the most important thing is that we’ve won three out of three. I know that maybe the results haven’t been as people would have wanted, but we’re playing at a World Cup at the end of the day.”

“This is the crème de la crème, this is the top, so I think that we know what we’re capable of, we’re just focused on one game at a time and getting the job done.”

England will train in Australia’s Central Coast region before travelling to Brisbane on Sunday, and Earps continued. The winner of this game will face either Colombia or Jamaica in the quarterfinals. They might also play Australia, Denmark, France, or Morocco in the semifinals.

In the first round of the knockouts, there are eight matches total and this Nigeria vs England happens to be the fifth match. The Brisbane Stadium, which can accommodate 46,851 spectators, will host the England vs. Nigeria match.

There were 44,369 spectators for England’s triumph over Haiti in the tournament’s opening match. Only 13,497 spectators witnessed the triumph against China while just over 40,000 watched the victory over Denmark. Nigeria will try to advance further after losing to Germany in the round of 16 in 2019

Nigeria, which has only won one game at this World Cup, will battle hard against a formidable England squad. The game will kick off at 8.30 a.m. (WAT) on Monday, August 7, 2023. The Super Falcons’ game against England will be available on Supersport, Afrosport, and Blend TV.
