Liverpool new acquisition, Federico Chiesa is on the path of  making great impact at the club since joining from Juventus. This is after influencing some of the club’s youngsters during a training session with the youth team this week.

Chiesa has only just joined the Reds from the Serie A outfit for around £12.5million just before deadline day. He is already at work attempting to get his fitness up to scratch so he can feature for the club after the international break.

The 26-year-old has been given extra time to build up his conditioning – having been frozen out by Juventus. With the player spending some time with the club’s Under-21 team, coach Barry Lewtas said he has been a superb example for the players with less experience.

Lewtas told the club’s official website: “Obviously you can see from the quality of his career so far, this is why he’s at one of the best clubs in the world. His professionalism and his quality was really good. It obviously just gives our boys a little bit of a chance to play against someone of that quality [and] it’s a really good learning opportunity for them.”

“I think any time when we come round to the first-team side, which we do a lot, is always really good. It’s a change of scenery but also more importantly gets us around first-team players and first-team staff, which is important for the boys.”

Chiesa’s commitment to getting up to scratch for Liverpool is clear after snubbing the opportunity to be part of Italy’s squad for their upcoming matches over the international break.

“Chiesa and I spoke and made a fair assessment,” Spalletti said. ” I would have brought him as an extra player, not participating in the games. He told me that he had spoken to his new club and that he needs to do specific preparation work with them.”

Lucian Spalletti has made efforts to make Chiesa feel included and a part of the team. Spalletti said that he had offered him to participate as a non-playing member of the squad. However, Chiesa informed him that he preferred to increase his workload with Liverpool.

Chiesa is credited with managing 25 starts, nine goals, and 37 appearances in all competitions in Serie A last season. He made 131 appearances for the Turin team, scoring 32 goals. When asked about Chiesa’s progress and timeline for his first appearance, Reds boss Arne Slot was cautious yet optimistic
