Wiggins was selected 23rd overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 1983 NBA draft but was traded to the Chicago Bulls on draft night. He achieved his most notable success with the Rockets during the 1989-90 season, averaging 15.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
After his NBA career, Wiggins went on to play in the Greek League, French League, and Philippine Basketball Association. He also represented the US national basketball team at the 1982 FIBA World Championship, winning a silver medal.
