Australia’s tennis star Alex de Minaur has withdrawn from the forthcoming Japan Open.

De Minaur won’t be competing, according to the most current report. The 25-year-old left the mega-event for reasons that are unclear, although it’s thought that a fitness concern was the driving force.

The current world number 11 has had medical difficulties this season, as seen by his forced withdrawal from the Wimbledon quarterfinal against Serbia’s great tennis player Novak Djokovic just before play began.

In his most recent tournament appearance, the US Open, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals with a score of 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 against Jack Draper of Great Britain.

Even without him, a number of big names, including America’s reigning champion Ben Shelton, will compete in the battle.

With a 7-5, 6-1 victory against Aslan Karatsev in the championship match, the world number 17 took home the trophy the previous year.

Other well-known competitors include Frances Tiafoe, Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, Norway’s Casper Ruud, Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz, Denmark’s Holger Rune, Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, and US Open 2024 runner-up Taylor Fritz.

The ATP 500 event will be played in the capital of the Japan, Tokyo, between September 25 to October 01 where some of the top players will participate and battle to secure the ultimate prize.
