Cole explains why Man Utd need to cut their losses on Antony 

Joe Cole feels £86m Antony is not a good fit for the Premier League so he has advised Manchester United to cut their losses.

This season, Antony has played just few minutes of Premier League football as he has fallen out of favor under Erik ten Hag. Despite making 29 appearances in the Premier League last season, he only managed to record one assist and one goal.

As Antony has utterly failed to live up to the potential he exhibited when playing for Ajax, Cole has now asked the Red Devils to just cut him go. Despite spending £86 million ($115 million) to get him, United has only achieved 17 goal involvements in 84 games.

Cole told The Mirror: “The problem with Antony at Manchester United is I think he’s a player that is perfect for the Dutch league.

“I think the physicality of the Premier League is something he struggles with. He’s a talented footballer with great technique and skill, and it was good to see him playing well against Barnsley.

“But I don’t see him making an impact in the United starting team this season and I can’t see him turning it around at Manchester United.”

Antony, who scored a penalty in United’s 7-0 victory against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup last week, will be hoping for additional playing time when United takes on Twente in the Europa League on Wednesday.
