The Houston Rockets’ 122-113 overtime win against the Oklahoma City Thunder was a thrilling matchup. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder’s superstar, showed off his skills with 15 points and six assists in just 19 minutes of play. Despite his impressive performance, the Thunder’s regular rotation players were limited to less than 20 minutes on the court.

The Rockets, on the other hand, had their starters play over 20 minutes, showcasing their determination to secure a win. Jack McVeigh, an Australian player, made a significant impact with a buzzer-beating jumper off Jermaine Samuels Jr.’s intentional free-throw miss, sending the game into overtime. McVeigh finished with seven points and four rebounds in just eight minutes on the court.

SGA continues to impress with his scoring and playmaking abilities. Williams made 50% of his six three-point attempts, showcasing his growing confidence in his shot. Hartenstein demonstrated his skills as a playmaking hub at the center position, with three assists in 15 minutes.

The Rockets’ victory was largely due to their strong overtime performance, where they out scored the Thunder 16-7. Alperen Sengun led the Rockets with 17 points, while Jalen Williams topped the Thunder’s scoreboard with 15 points.

The Thunder’s next preseason game is against the Denver Nuggets on October 15.
