Kawhi Leonard will miss the start of the NBA season due to ongoing rehabilitation of his right knee, which has been plagued by inflammation since 2019. This isn’t the first time Leonard has dealt with knee issues; he sat out the entire 2021-22 season with a torn ACL in the same knee. The Clippers star has been working to stabilize his knee, focusing on making it through potential postseason play.
Leonard’s knee problems limited him to just two postseason games last season, and he missed the final eight games of the regular season. Despite signing a three-year extension worth $52 million in January, his health has restricted his postseason availability for four straight years. The Clippers are set to open their season on October 23 against the Phoenix Suns at their new arena in Inglewood.
