Wolves fans were left disappointed by the performance of Pablo Sarabia in the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.
They knew that anything other than three points against Palace wasn’t enough and unfortunately, that is the scenario that played out. The visitors were unfortunate not to take the lead in the first half as Jean-Philippe Mateta missed multiple chances to score.
The first half was fairly even, with both sides having a couple of opportunities early on. Palace had the best chance of the first half in the 33rd minute when Mateta thought he had scored from close range. Only for his shot to be blocked by his own teammate, Chalobah!
The match ended 0-0 at the break, and the start of the second half carried on like the first. Wolves had a big chance saved by Henderson as he took Sarabia’s shot square in the face. 10 minutes after that, Wolves lived to regret the miss.
There was a defensive mixup in the box, which allowed Chalobah a free shot at an empty net, which he gladly took to put Palace 1-0 up. Palace continued to miss chance after chance, right after going ahead, and then they paid the price for it in the 67th minute.
Guedes unselfishly teed up Gomes to place his shot into the bottom right corner of Henderson’s side, making it 2-1 to Wolves. The goals weren’t done there, however, and Palace finally took another of their many chances in the 77th minute.
There was one more piece of drama in the 97th minute when Mateta thought he had won it for Palace, only for the goal to be disallowed for a foul committed by Munoz.
Wolves equalised after Matheus Cunha played in Jorgen Strand Larsen before Guedes set up Joao Gomes for the goal that could have won them the game. However, the visitors equalised moments later through Marc Guehi as the spoils were shared and the hosts made it 10 Premier League games this term without a win.
