Barcelona secured a 3-1 win in their derby clash against neighbours, courtesy of a first half blitz.
Goals from Dani Olmo and Raphina in the first half was enough to seal all three points for the Catalans against Espanyol.
Barcelona were ahead in the 12 minutes. A wonderful trivela cross from Lamine Yamal ran onto Olmo who fired past Joan Garcia for the opener.
The lead was doubled 11 minutes later with Raphina’s lob. The Brazilian received a through ball from Marc Casado and lifted the ball over the onrushing Garcia.
Hansi Flick’s got their third goal on the half hour mark as , Olmo shot home from outside of the penalty area, to scored his second of the game.
Although, Espanyol managed to get a consolation goal from Javi Puado, the first half party was enough to seal the game.
Meanwhile, the visitors have had two previous efforts ruled out by VAR.
However, Barcelona are now nine points clear at the top of La Liga after the victory.
