Stephen Curry made a triumphant return to the court, scoring 24 points in just 24 minutes of play, to help the Golden State Warriors secure a 125-112 victory over the Washington Wizards. After missing three consecutive games due to a left ankle injury, Curry showed no signs of rust, making 7-of-15 shots, including four 3-pointers, and dishing out six assists.
Curry’s return was carefully managed by the Warriors, with coach Steve Kerr limiting his playing time to avoid exacerbating the injury. Despite the minutes restriction, Curry looked strong and moved well on the court, according to Kerr. The Warriors’ star player even joked about his brief absence, saying, “The adrenaline got the best of me, but thankfully it was only a little over a week and I feel good now”.
The Warriors’ win marks their fourth consecutive victory, improving their record to 6-1. They’ll face a tougher test in their next game, a rematch of the 2022 Finals against the Boston Celtics. With Curry back in the lineup, the Warriors are poised to continue their strong start to the season.
