Victor Osimhen’s first-half brace sent Galatasaray top of the Europa League table as they edged 10-man Tottenham.
Galatasaray won 3-2 as they damned Tottenham to their first European loss in this campaign.
The Turkish giant took the lead with just six minutes into the game. Yunus Akgun rifled a left-footed effort into the top corner following
Archie Gray’s headed clearance. .
Spurs drew level through youngster Will Lankshear, who got his first senior goal with a simple finish from Brennan Johnson’s cross.
However, Osimhen put the hosts back in front, sending the ball home after receiving a pass from Dries Mertens, following a sloppy play from Radu Dragusin.
The Nigeria International extended the lead six minutes before half-time, combining again with Dries Mertens for his second of the game.
The game went sour for Tottenham and the 19-year-old Lankshear as he received a second yellow card for a challenge on Gabriel Sara.
However, the North London team got hope for a comeback in the 69th minute when substitute Dominic Solanke neatly flicked Pedro Porro’s cross into the net.
Howbeit, the Turkish champions held on for the win, to top the log of the Europa League.
