Patrick Schick scored three goals as Bayer Leverkusen came from behind to defeat Heidenheim at the Bay Arena.
Xavi Alonso boy’s won 5-2 in front of the home fans, after going behind by two goals in the first 21 minutes.
The reigning champions turned the table around as the banged in five goals, courtesy of Schick’s hat-trick and goals from Exequiel Palacios and Granit Xhaka.
Heidenheim stunned the defending champions in just 10 minutes into the game. Marvin Pieringer disposed Piero Hincapie and set up Niklas Dorsch to open the scoring. in the 10th minute.
The visitors made it 2-0 when Mathias Honsak surged past three Leverkusen defenders and shot inside the far post.
Exequiel Palacios pulled one back in the 30th minutes to give the host hope.
Two minutes after, Schick equalised with a deft chip over the Heidenheim goalkeeper to make it squared in the first-half.
Schick then got his second to give Leverkusen the lead as he notched home Florian Wirtz’s cross in the 52nd minutes.
The Czech international got his hat-trick in the 71st minutes, as he sent another header into the net, courtesy of Arthur’s cross.
Granit Xhaka then completed the comeback before celebrating by sucking his thumb and making a baby gesture.
