FC Barcelona were held to a shocking late 2-2 draw by Celta Vigo, despite being two goals ahead.

The Catalans looked on course to be winning the contest but a late red card costed them, with the game ending in statement.

Hansi Flick’s side led at the first half, courtesy of Raphina’s goal as the Brazilian capitalised from Oscar Mingueza’s slip.

Barca made it 2-0, following another error from Mingueza, which Raphina picked up, before locating Robert Lewandowski. The Poland striker made it count, firing home his 15th league goal of 2024/25 campaign.

However, a red card in the 82nd minute to Marc Casado, destabilised Barca and they crumbled to two late goals, to share points.

The young midfielder received his second yellow card in the game after a silly foul on Ilaix Moriba.

Celta Vigo took advantage of the deficit and pushed for a result, having seen a goal ruled out for offside.

However, they scored again as Alfon Gonzalez slotted home after a mix up in the Barcelona defence.

The hosts then made it all squared three minutes later as Hugo Alvarez took full advantage of Jules Kounde’s error. The Celta striker steer home a bold equaliser in the 86th minute to give a wild ending to the game.

The result gives Real Madrid a major boost to reduce the gap as they have two games on hand, with only seven points behind Barcelona.
