The NBA has postponed two games scheduled for Saturday due to the ongoing wildfires in Southern California. The affected games are the Los Angeles Lakers vs. San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers vs. Charlotte Hornets.

The decision was made to ensure that no resources are diverted from the wildfire response efforts. The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association are also donating $1 million to support those affected by the wildfires, with the funds going to organizations like the American Red Cross and World Central Kitchen.

This is the second postponement for both the Lakers and Hornets, who were initially scheduled to face each other on Thursday. The new dates for the rescheduled games have not been announced yet.

Lakers coach JJ Redick, who lost his family’s home to the wildfires, expressed his devastation and concern for the community. He emphasized that while his family will be okay, there are others who will struggle to recover from the disaster.
