Arsenal and Manchester City will face each other today at the Emirates Stadium. In their last match, they drew dramatically, with John Stones scoring late to secure a point for City.
Since then, City has struggled in the league but has started to improve recently. They won a Champions League playoff against Club Brugge with a score of 3-1 and have won five of their last seven matches.
Despite these improvements, Manchester City still trails Arsenal in the Premier League. Arsenal is currently in second place and needs a win on Sunday to keep up with league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
Arsenal will play Manchester City in few hours, at 16:30 GMT (11:30 ET / 08:30 PT) at the Emirates Stadium in London. The referee for the match is Peter Bankes, with Paul Tierney serving as the VAR.
Arsenal had the chance to rotate players midweek. Goalkeeper David Raya missed a game against Girona due to a minor injury, but he is expected to be fit for Sunday. Myles Lewis-Skelly will return after having his red card from last week rescinded. However, Arsenal will still be without key players Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus. Additionally, right-backs Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White are injured.
Arsenal’s predicted lineup is a 4-3-3 formation: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Martinelli, Havertz, Trossard.
On the other hand, Manchester City’s injury situation is improving. However some important players are still missing. Rodri is out long-term, along with defenders Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake.
Forward Jeremy Doku is also unavailable due to a muscle injury. While Oscar Bobb is still recovering from a broken leg. New signings Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Vitor Reis will be eligible to play today.
Manchester City’s predicted lineup is a 4-1-4-1 formation: Ederson; Nunes, Stones, Akanji, Gvardiol; Kovacic; Foden, De Bruyne, Silva, Marmoush; Haaland.
