Atletico Madrid star, Angel Correa has been handed five matches ban for using offensive words against referee.

The forward gave a statement reaction to referee Cuadra Fernandez, after being sent off last Sunday against Getafe. As recorded in the referee’s report, the Argentine said, “Son of a bitch, coward. A motherfucker.”

Therefore, the RFEF’s disciplinary body considers Correa’s attitude an insult, which is considered a serious offense, punishable with a suspension of four to twelve matches.

The Atletico man was thereby given four games suspension, and an extra for the red card on his tackle on Djene.

The Rojiblancos will therefore be without the Argentine for their next weekend league game against Barcelona.

Correa will also miss the trip to Espanyol, Copa del Rey semi-finals against Barca, and league matches against Sevilla and Valladolid.
