Barcelona earned a massive comeback as they snatched a superb 4-2 away win over title rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Catalans were trailing by two goals till the 70th minute, but went on to score four goals to claim all three points.
Goals from Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres’ brace and Lamine Yamal, gave Hansi Flick’s side the victory.
Having been dumped controversially out of the UEFA Champions League by neighbours, Real Madrid, Diego Simeone called on his players to channel their anger from the Madrid’s game to Barca’s.
The game was on the right path for Simeone’s side as they scored first in the first half, with Julian Alvarez smashing home Giuliano Simeone’s pass from close range.
Holding on to the strong attacking Barca, Atletico looked to have sealed the contest as Sorloth came off the bench to net the second. The Norwegian has now scored for the third successive game against Barcelona this season.
However, Barca started the comeback two minutes after, when Lewandowski reduced the deficit with his strike. Substitute Ferran Torres burst into the box to smash home a shock leveller, just a few minutes after.
Atletico Madrid failed to hold on to a draw even, with Yamal’s deflected long range strike, giving Barca the lead.
The Blaugranas cemented the victory to go top of the league, as Torres once again found the net. The Spanish international made it a brace in the 94th minute.
Barcelona are now back as league leaders, a point above Real Madrid, and four ahead of Atletico. Meanwhile, the Catalans still have a game on hand.
Both teams will face off again, as the Catalan side heads back to Madrid for a Copa del Rey semi-final second leg on April 2.
