Kings’ center Domantas Sabonis will be sidelined for at least 10 days due to a right ankle sprain he suffered during Monday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.¹ This is a significant blow to the Kings, as Sabonis is the league leader in rebounds, averaging 13.9 per game, and is also averaging 19.2 points and 6.2 assists.
Sabonis had just returned to the lineup after missing six games with a Grade 1 hamstring strain.² The Kings are already feeling the impact of his absence, with a 3-6 record without him this season.
In his absence, Jonas Valanciunas is likely to return to the starting lineup. The Kings have also signed forward Terry Taylor to a 10-day contract to add some depth to their roster.
