Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the top seed, defeated Slovak Viktoria Hruncakova 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the final of the Dutch Open at the Autotron Rosmalen in’s-Hertogenbosch on Saturday.
Kudermetova, ranked No 14, will face Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 4 seed, next.
The Russian won against American Alison Riske-Amritraj (6-3, 3-0 ret.), Canadian qualifier Carol Zhao (6-1, 6-3) and Swiss wildcard Celine Naef (6-3, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Rosmalen tournament, Hruncakova, ranked No 144, beat Swiss qualifier Susan Bandecchi (6-4, 6-2), Canadian Bianca Andreescu, the No 6 seed (7-6 (6), 6-3) and American Ashlyn Krueger (6-4, 6-4).
