Chelsea Completes First Summer Signing

Chelsea has confirmed the completion of their first summer signing, Nicolas Jackson from Spanish side Villarreal.

The Blues completed the signing of the Senegalese for a fee around the region of €37m, tying him to an 8-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Jackson had a breakout season with the Yellow Submarines last season, scoring 12 goals in 38 appearances, and he was also part of the Senegal squad that featured at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Chelsea’s Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: “‘We are excited to welcome Nicolas to Chelsea. He is a young player with big potential, as he showcased for Villarreal last season.

“We believe he is ready for this next step in his career and look forward to him working with our new head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, and his Chelsea teammates.”
