Luis Enrique’s appointment as Paris Saint-Germain’s next head coach was formally announced on Wednesday. Following a disastrous 2022 World Cup, the former Barcelona manager returns to management seven months after quitting at Spain.
Enrique hopes he will be able to become the first PSG manager to win the Champions League. He has reportedly told Barcelona that he won’t try to sign any of their players, which many believe to be good news for Xavi Hernandez
In an effort to create a better relationship between his present team (PSG) and old team (Barcelona), Enrique has implemented a “non-aggression pact”. PSG has previously been linked to players like Pedri, Gavi, and Ousmane Dembele, but it seems unlikely that they would join the club while Enrique is in charge.
Given that Barcelona are desperate to sell players this summer in order to acquire all of their new signings, PSG would have been a good landing if not for Enrique’s decision.
