After rumours of Bernardo Silva picking Barcelona while rejecting offers from other clubs, Paris Saint-Germain has proposed trading two players in exchange for the attacking midfielder.
PSG has made an effort to cut Silva’s asking price by presenting a swap arrangement through their football advisor, Luis Campos. Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti were the two players offered to City, but the triple winners have categorically rejected the deal.
Ilkay Gundogan was suggested as a replacement for Verratti, while Donnarumma and Ederson might have fought for the No. 1 jersey at the Etihad Stadium. Gundogan joined Barcelona this summer. Silva, in contrast, is rumored to be eager to relocate to Paris, but City is hoping to persuade him to stay.
Given that the Portugal international’s contract is slated to expire next season, the initiative may very well be in his hands. Given that he is 28 years old and has the potential to join PSG at the end of the current campaign, City may seek to pressure Silva into making a choice as soon as possible. However Silva future is still uncertain as he has not decided if he would stay at City or join PSG.
