The new Premier League season is now set to get underway as top-flight action begins next weekend. Manchester City claimed their third straight title last term after coming out on top in their match against Arsenal.
Burnley, Sheffield United, and Luton Town took the places of the relegated Southampton, Leicester, and Leeds at the other end of the table. The 2023–24 season is about to begin as all teams are nearing the end of a crucial preseason.
On Friday, August 11, the 2023–24 Premier League season will start. City will face Vincent Kompany’s Burnley away in their quest for a record-breaking fourth consecutive title on the first day. Below are the fixtures for the opening week:
Friday, August 11
Burnley vs Manchester City – 8pm
Saturday, August 12
Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest – 12:30pm
Bournemouth vs West Ham – 3pm
Brighton vs Luton – 3pm
Everton vs Fulham – 3pm
Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace – 3pm
Newscastle vs Aston Villa – 5:30,pm
Sunday, August 13
Brentfird vs Tottenham – 2pm
Chelsea vs Liverpool – 4:30pm
Manchester United vs Wolves – 8pm
The schedule returned to normal after the World Cup’s disruption during the previous campaign, hence this season’s start is one week later than it was for 2022–2023.
However, following a busy Christmas season, teams will take a break from January 12 to January 20,2024. The Premier League has promised not to schedule any rounds of games within 48 hours of one another at in order to relieve clubs and players of fixture congestion.
The final round of fixtures would be on Sunday, May 19, 2024. All games will kick off at the same time, just as this season’s final day games took place.
