Just In: Thiago Messi Joins Inter Miami Academy

Thiago Messi might be following in his father Lionel’s footsteps as he joins Inter Miami’s academy. The child has not been a member of any other club, so he is free to embark on a thrilling new endeavor.

With 11 goals scored by the Argentine superstar over nine straight victories, his father has undoubtedly drawn attention since relocating his family to Florida. Along with his two brothers, Mateo and Ciro, Thiago, who turns 11 on November 2, is currently living in America. In recent weeks, the entire Messi family, including Antonela Roccuzzo, has become a regular at Inter Miami games, enabling them to witness Leagues Cup, U.S. Open Cup, and MLS victories.

Romeo (who is currently at Brentford) and Harvey, the sons of David Beckham and Phil Neville have also signed contracts with Inter Miami thus Thiago will be trying to work his way through the Fort Lauderdale junior system.

Inter Miami have given no fanfare to acquiring Thiago Messi, but they are rightly proud of their efforts when it comes to producing stars. Academy director Victor Pastora has said: “We look forward to another great season after a highly successful 2022-23 season. Our Academy program potential and success was best reflected by the contribution of our 6 academy homegrowns in our first team, the 15 academy players that have been part of our MLS NEXT Pro this season, and the 20 academy payers called up to Youth National teams.”
