New: Pogba Suspended for Anti-doping Offence

France World Cup winner, Paul Pogba has been provisionally suspended for an anti-doping offence, according to multiple reports in Italy.

Following Juventus’ Serie A opener against Udinese on August 20, random checks revealed elevated hormone levels in Pogba, as reported by the news agency ANSA.

Juventus official statement on the developers read: “Juventus Football Club announces that today, September 11, 2023, the footballer Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the results of tests carried out on August 20, 2023.

“The club reserves the right to consider the next procedural steps.”

This is coming as a major hit for Pogba who hasn’t fully settled back in Italy since rejoining Juventus from Manchester United a little more than a year ago.

According to several sources, should Pogba be proven guilty, he may be summoned before the National Anti-Doping Tribunal and potentially receive a suspension from all football-related activities for a maximum of two years, which could be extended to four years if it’s established that he knowingly used the substance.
