Manchester United Forward Antony Interrogated By Police Over Assault Allegations

After returning to England to face assault claims, Manchester United forward Antony reportedly underwent a five-hour police interrogation.

Antony has voluntarily turned himself over to police forces in South America and the United Kingdom. He returned to Manchester on Monday after flying in from Sao Paulo. The Brazil international is accused by his former girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin of subjecting her to a series of physical assaults and mental abuse.

Antony denies all of the allegations. At 9:30 pm, he was seen leaving the questioned police station with his current partner, Rosilene Silva. Throughout their relationship, Cavallin has accused him of beating her on several times, with the first incidents occurring in June 2022 while she was pregnant.

She has released screenshots of abusive messages Antony sent to her on WhatsApp and claims to have a cut on her finger and a wound on her head. Similar charges have been leveled against Antony by two other women.

Manchester United has given him an indefinite leave of absence while the lawsuit is still pending to give him time to deal with things off the pitch.
