Ahead of the blockbuster clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool tomorrow, Spurs’ boss Ange Postecoglou is anticipating a great test against the Jurgen Klopp-led side that’s equally firing on all cylinders.
Both teams have had a bright start to their season, currently on an unbeaten streak that’ll be greatly tested at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, come 5:30 pm tomorrow.
“They’ve been a very good football team for a while now,” Postecoglou admitted on his opponent’s form.
“Obviously, they fell off the pace last year a little, but the elements of who they are as a football team have always been there. It’s a great test for us.
“They probably bring something different from any other team in the league in the way they play and the manner they go about things.
“It’ll be a really good test for us to try to impose our football on a team that’s fairly unique in the way they play the game.”
The Australian manager didn’t stop at that, he also went on to commend Klopp’s style of play and how he’s made an impact not only at Liverpool, but also in the Premier League at large.
“Jurgen is an outstanding manager, he’s one of the managers I think it’s fair to say who has made an impact on the competition, not just his club,” Postecoglou said.
“When he came in, with the way Liverpool went about things, he challenged quite a few of the conventions about the Premier League and introduced a new style of play that others have followed.
“It’s a great test for where we are at the moment in terms of our development.”
With an unbeaten start of four wins and two draws in the PL so far, Ange Postecoglou will be looking to join Antonio Conte as the only other Spurs manager to begin their tenure with a seven-game PL unbeaten streak, against Liverpool who’s equally on an unbeaten streak with five wins and one draw.
