Following Manchester United’s narrow win over Sheffield United yesterday, Erik Ten Hag praised Harry Maguire for “playing the way we want him to play.”
Maguire was solid in United’s defence yesterday, as the Red Devils defeated the Blades 2-1 courtesy of goals from Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot.
The former Leicester City defender who managed his second consecutive game for the first time in recent times, having featured in United’s win over Brentford was awarded the Man of the Match for his impressive performance last night.
“Harry is playing like we want him to play,” Ten Hag said. “Very proactive, out of possession, dominating his opponent, stepping in when necessary, reading the game, good recovery but also in possession, very proactive, stepping in, good passing, vertical passing, good switches. I’m happy with his performance.”
“He deserved the MOTM award yesterday. He played a really good game, and read the game very well. I am pleased for him,” the Dutchman concluded.
