Gio Reyna Benched Again As Dortmund Defeats Newcastle in Champions League 

Gio Reyna was once again forced to watch from the sidelines as Borussia Dortmund defeated Newcastle handily in the Champions League.

At the beginning of the game, Dortmund had the upper hand for extended periods of time despite their wastefulness.

Dortmund, who had just come into the game having suffered a crushing defeat to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga over the weekend humiliated the Magpies 2-0 at the Signal Iduna Park.

Dortmund came in front in the 26th minute to buttress their early domination in the game with Niclas Fullkrug’s strike to Marcel Sabitzer’s cross.

As Newcastle attempted to draw even, the German team countered with Karim Adeyemi’s pass that went directly to Julian Brandt who then slotted past Nick Pope.

Dortmund maintains their hopes of qualifying for the next round with the victory despite their mixed start to the season.

In an open Group of Death, BVB have taken four points from their opening three games before Tuesday’s showdown and they currently stays in the first position with seven points.

Newcastle, on the other hand, still has four points, but they have a difficult path ahead of them.
