Carlo Ancelotti revealed his excitement over Real Madrid’s qualification into the Round of 16 yesterday, following their 3-0 win against Braga.
Goals from Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes and Brahim Diaz were the difference yesterday, as Madrid extended their unbeaten run at the Santiago Bernabéu in Europe to nine matches.
“We’re delighted to be in the Round of 16,” Ancelloti said.
He added: “It’s not so easy to get through the Group Stage, we’ve played really well in these first four games, home and away.
“It’s a special competition for us and Real Madrid has built its history here. Every game feels special and we won’t take it easy in the next two because we always have the same demands: to give it our very best.”
Following yesterday’s win, Carlo Ancelotti has surpassed Alex Ferguson to become the manager with the most wins (116) in the history of the European Cup.
