Rasmus Hojlund had praised Erik ten Hag as a “really good coach” following Manchester United’s 4-3 loss to Copenhagen. The 20-year-old striker scored two goals in the first 30 minutes of the game to become the first-ever United player to score five goals in his first four Champions League outings.

However, following Marcus Rashford’s dubious red card, the Red Devils fell 4-3 at Parken Stadium on Tuesday evening, despite holding 2-0 and 3-2 leads. It was United’s ninth defeat of the season in their first 17 games across all competitions – A milestone last accomplished by the Red Devils in the 1973-74 season, when they were demoted from the top flight after finishing 21st out of 22 clubs.

Despite the dismal start Hojlund praises Ten Hag saying: ” He is a really good coach. He cares about every single detail, and he helps me a lot, gives me a lot of confidence, and supports me. I think every player in the dressing room supports him. I hope it is just a matter of time. The first 30 minutes today was some of the best football we have been playing this season.”

Despite the setback, Ten Hag declared that he was delighted with his men’ effort and blamed their unhappiness in Denmark on faulty refereeing decisions. This was United’s third defeat in four Champions League outings this season, and they are currently bottom of their group. To advance, they will most likely need to beat Galatasaray away and Bayern Munich at home. Hojlund is yet to score in the Premier League, and the Danish striker will be hoping to do so against Luton Town on Saturday.
