Juventus Director Giuntoli Counters Inter, Targets Top Four Finish

Juventus sporting director—Cristiano Giuntoli has issued a reply to Inter Milan’s Beppe Marotta who claimed the Old Lady are the favourite to lift this season’s Scudetto.

Giuntoli said Juventus aim is a top-four finish, while Inter has always been the Seria A’s title contender.

“Marotta is a master to all of us but of course, over the last few years, things didn’t always go as they wanted. They always started as favourites and maybe, this season, they try to share their responsibility,” Giuntoli told Sky Sports Italia yesterday.

He continued: “On the other hand, we are aware of our strengths and our target is the top four but surely we don’t prevent our players from dreaming.

“It’s not been long, so we must wait,” Giuntoli insisted.

“We are happy with what the coach, the staff members and the players are doing. We have created a great group but it’s a long path.

Juventus have amassed 33 points from 14 games, two points adrift Inter Milan who have garnered 35 points from the same number of matches played.
