David De Gea, Manchester United former goalkeeper, has been putting in a lot of effort in training amid rumors that he may be moving to Newcastle. After leaving Manchester United in the summer, De Gea is still a free agent.
The goalkeeper has not yet finalized a deal despite being linked to multiple teams. Following the serious shoulder injury that sidelined first-choice stopper Nick Pope, Newcastle has emerged as the latest club to be linked to the former Spain international.
De Gea has shown how he’s keeping himself in shape by posting a picture of himself in training kit on social media with the words: “Work, Work, Work.”
When questioned about rumors that the Magpies might trade for De Gea, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe played it cool, but he did confirm that Pope will miss four months of time. While Martin Dubravka will fill in for now, the team may try to sign a new goalkeeper during the January transfer window.
De Gea will undoubtedly be hoping to get a move when the winter transfer window opens after going the entire season without a club. After a string of well-publicized mistakes, the goalkeeper was permitted to leave United after 12 seasons; despite this, he is still a seasoned stopper with titles in the Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League.
