Erik ten Hag has questioned Jadon Sancho’s attitude and dedication to the team, and he has been totally shut out of the game this season. A January swap has long been planned. Although an agreement hasn’t been finalized yet, Dortmund is eager to see a familiar face again.
Delivering an update on that process, with it initially suggested that Sancho would be back in Germany by now, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told Sky Deutschland: “We are in dialogue with Manchester United. We want to bring him to us on loan. That’s no secret. But we are not yet ready to announce a result.”
In 2021, the England international winger completed his departure from the Bundesliga giants after agreeing to a £75 million ($95 million) move to Old Trafford. With just 12 goals in 82 appearances, his life in his own country has not gone as expected.
Dortmund and Sancho are currently debating how much of the troubled forward’s income Dortmund would have to absorb in the event that a loan agreement is approved. Sancho is reportedly paid £250,000 per week in England. To remove an undesired asset from its books, United is willing to pay a portion of those costs.
