It’ll be Massimiliano Allegri’s 400th game in charge of Juventus when they take on Frosinone in the Coppa Italia tomorrow, and the Italian gaffer is honoured to match such an incredulous feat with the club.

Allegri’s first stint at Juve was in 2014 when he came on as Antonio Conte’s replacement, and the 56-year-old won 11 trophies in the first five years, before returning two years ago.

Reacting to this at a pre-match press conference earlier today, Allegri said: “I’m really happy to make 400 games with Juventus behind legends like Giovanni Trappatoni, who was my coach at Cagliari and Marcello Lippi. It is a great honour.

“When I arrived, I didn’t think I would spend eight years at Juventus. I am proud of it, but we must look ahead and we must qualify for the semi-final. I’ve learned here that we must focus on what happens next and not on the past.”

“I wouldn’t even cancel one game. In football, there are challenges every day, especially with the Champions League.

“That’s what we live and work for. I miss not playing it this season. We have played many important games in eight years. I remember all of them with pleasure, even when we were losing 3-0 against Genoa after 27 minutes.”

With four wins and a draw in their last five matches, the Bianconeri will welcome Frosinone to the Allianz Stadium tomorrow, with the goal of getting past them into the semi-final of the Coppa Italia.
