After several frustrating months without finding a new club, Jesse Lingard, Manchester United former player has severed his relationship with his agent. Due to several breaches in negotiations with clubs, Lingard decided to cut relations with his agency.
After a lackluster season at the City Ground, Lingard left Nottingham Forest in the summer and hasn’t found a new team. Former Premier League star Lingard is currently hoping a new agency and new club may help him turn his career around after it has faded.
The source told Sky Sports: “Lingard just wants to play football and has subsequently terminated all ties with his former agents. He has decided to end what has been a complex long-term agreement with his former representatives.”
“Money is not the driving force and Lingard is growing frustrated that several contract offers and enquiries, since his departure from Nottingham Forest, have failed to develop.”
Lingard’s contract at Forest was not renewed, and he has not been able to sustain the caliber of play he demonstrated during stints at Manchester United and West Ham on loan. However, many contend that a player with Lingard’s caliber ought to be playing football on a regular basis.
In spite of this, there is a perception that Lingard’s shortcomings are related to his application rather than his skill. Paul Scholes, a veteran of Manchester United, stated this week in his remark on Lingard’s Instagram picture that he is still single and without a club.: “Are you just gonna f*ck about in the gym or are you gonna actually play football?”
The former United player will, however, be hopeful that a new representation will enable him to resume regular football activity.
