Politano signs new three-year deal with Napoli

Matteo Politano has officially inked a new three-year deal with Napoli, following agent Mario Giuffredi’s acknowledgement of substantial interest from Al Shabab a few days ago.

The forward who joined the Partenopei on an initial loan deal from Inter Milan back in January 2020 now commits to the current Scudetto holder until June 2027, with a paycheck of around €2.8/3m per year, according to Fabrizio Romano.

“There was an offer from Al-Shabab who strongly wanted him and insisted a lot, but the player’s will was to continue at Napoli and the president wanted to keep him and satisfy him from the point of contractual point of view,” the forward’s agent said on Monday, 29th January.

Napoli has also confirmed the recent development via their Official X account with a video showing a short compilation of Politano’s efforts for the club.

Politano Napoli’s career by numbers

The Italian has notched up 174 appearances across all competitions for the Azzurri, where he won the Coppa Italia in 2019/20 and the Seria A in the 2022/23 season.

So far this season, the 30-year-old has scored six and assisted four goals in 20 Seria A appearances.
