Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, has appreciated the effort of the Super Eagles at the just concluded Nations Cup in Ivory Coast.
Tinubu declared that each player would receive a piece of land, flats in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and a national award known as the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
Meanwhile, the 34th edition of AFCON has ended, but the memories remain fresh in the minds of football fans who expected the Super Eagles of Nigeria to have won their fourth title in Ivory Coast.
The Nigerian side was close to winning their fourth title before second-half strikes from Ivory Coast dashed the hopes of the Super Eagles.
Despite failing to scoop the trophy, Mr. Tinubu awarded the Eagles, even though they failed to win the AFCON.
While receiving the Eagles, who landed on Monday evening from Abidjan, at the presidential villa this afternoon, the President applauded their patriotism in putting Nigeria first regardless of their differences.
