Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has outlined the strategy he believes is necessary for Barcelona to overcome Napoli in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League (UCL) Round of 16.
Napoli and Barcelona played a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the tie at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples, with both team’s strikers Victor Osimhen and Lewandowski, finding the net.
Osimhen scored with his last kick of the match to salvage a draw for the Partenopei, after minutes of struggling against Xavi’s men, particularly in the first half.
Ahead of the second leg, Lewandowski emphasizes that Barcelona must replicate this level of performance if they’re to get past the current Scudetto holders next week Tuesday.
“We played really well against Napoli, in the first 30 minutes, we played really well. We needed that second goal, but now we have the home leg to do it,” the ex-Bayern Munich star told Barça’s media.
“If we play from the start as we did in the first half in Naples, then I think we can win and score more goals. What we want to do is be in the next round.
“Napoli are a dangerous team with really good players, but we want to win this game, and, even though there is still time before then, we want to win all our matches up until then as well.”
