Giacomo Raspadori scored a dramatic winner for Napoli in a keenly contested match against Juventus that ended 2-1 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday.

It was Juventus that started the game the brighter side, with the first real chance falling to Dušan Vlahović in the 10th minute, only for the striker to direct his header wide off target.

Despite Juventus’ early dominance, Napoli gradually found their rhythm; created chances of their own, as they worked their way back into the game.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Mathías Oliveira both threatened before Kvaratskhelia—whose father affirmed his commitment to Napoli earlier—powered a superb volley past Wojciech Szczęsny to give Napoli the lead in the 42nd minute.

After dispossessing Haméd Traoré inside Napoli’s half, Vlahović had the opportunity to draw the Old Lady level, before the halftime break, but the Serbian once again squandered his chance.

Undeterred, Massimiliano Allegri’s men continued to press for an equalizer in the second half, and eventually found the breakthrough through Federico Chiesa in the 81st.

It appeared as though the game was destined for a draw, but Napoli regained the lead in the 88th minute, after Raspadori capitalized on Victor Osimhen’s penalty miss to fire Francesco Calzona’s men to seventh on the log, while Juventus’ title race hit a roadblock, as they fall 12 points behind Inter Milan who could go 15 points clear if they defeat Genoa on Monday.
