Marcus Rashford recent decision to party in Belfast till the early hours of the morning allegedly “let down” several of his Manchester United teammates. The England international went on a tequila-fueled session in a Belfast club in January, missing United training and their FA Cup fourth round match against Newport as a result.
Despite promptly restoring Rashford, who performed admirably against Wolves, earlier reports suggest that Erik ten Hag’s relationship with the player has become irreconcilable. According to Daily Mail, this mentality has spread among the players.
Reports say some Manchester United players feel “let down” by Rashford’s behaviour. That’s despite the 26-year-old issuing a 2,000-word letter last week emphasizing his dedication to the Red Devils. However, Rashford former role as a senior member of the United dressing room has been harmed, with his reputation tarnished as a result of the unceremonious journey to Belfast.
Rashford did his talking on the pitch in his first game back against Wolves, but he has subsequently delivered numerous subpar displays. The United forward has struggled in a more central role in Rasmus Hojlund’s absence, but he responded with a screamer in the Manchester Derby.
More of that, and he’ll most likely regain the support of his teammates in no time. He is struggling to reestablish his friendship with Ten Hag, with whom he is apparently not even on speaking terms at this point. However, as recent performances have increased the pressure on the Dutchman, there are numerous names being floated as potential replacements.
