UCL: Barcelona defeats Napoli to qualify for quarter-final 

Barcelona qualified for the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) courtesy of a 3-1 win over Napoli on Tuesday to round off the aggregate score to 4-2.

Barcelona started the brighter side, with Lamine Yamal and Fermín López both wasting chances to put the Spanish giants ahead. However, Fermín redeemed himself with a composed finish to open the scoring in the 15th minute.

Two minutes later, the hosts doubled their lead through João Cancelo after a blistering break led by Yamal.

Consequently, Napoli responded with a well-executed goal from Amir Rrahmani in the 30th minute, but Barcelona managed to hold onto their lead until halftime despite some tense moments.

The visitors continued to press in the second half, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia coming close to equalizing.

Barcelona eventually sealed the victory as Robert Lewandowski who scored the club’s only goal in the first leg, leveraged İlkay Gündoğan’s pass to secure the Blaugranea’s spot in the quarter-finals and extend their unbeaten run to nine games.

The defeat ended Napoli’s six-game unbeaten streak under Francesco Calzona.
