Darwin Nunez, a Liverpool striker, has been ruled out of Uruguay’s double friendly clash during the international break.
Nunez dropped out of the Uruguay squad after complaining of pain in his hamstring after the Sunday FA quarter-final clash against Manchester United. Although Nunez played for 120 minutes in the game, the aftermath has resulted in an injury that will prevent him from playing for his country in the coming days.
According to the Uruguayan coach, Marcelo Bielsa notified the public that the 24-year-old striker was ruled out of the game against Basque Country on March 23 and Ivory Coast three days later.
The Liverpool striker has scored 17 goals with 12 assists for Liverpool across all competitions this season.
