Real Madrid-bound star Endrick etched his name in history books, after scoring a late goal to lead Brazil to a 1-0 friendly win over England at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday, March 23.

Despite an early scare from England’s Phil Foden who narrowly missed a free-kick opportunity, Brazil worked their way back into the game, with Rodrygo and Vinícius Júnior posing threats up front.

However, England’s hopes took a blow as captain Kyle Walker was forced off due to injury just 20 minutes into the game.

That, however, didn’t reduce the liveliness of the first half, as chances kept coming thick and fast for both sides

Fabrício Bruno’s crucial intervention denied Ollie Watkins a clear goal, while Harry Maguire — Gareth Southgate’s guarantor— saw his effort deflected wide.

The back and forth continued into the second half. The Three Lions’ set-piece opportunities kept Brazil’s defence on their toes, but it was the Seleção who eventually found the breakthrough.

17-year-old Endrick capitalised on a rebound from Vinicius Junior’s strike in the 80th minute to secure Brazil’s victory.

The win not only ended Brazil’s four-game winless streak but also handed England their first defeat in 11 matches.
