Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez, has once again affirmed that nothing will make him go back on his declaration to depart the Catalan club at the end of the season.
There has been a back-and-forth over the authenticity of Xavi’s imminent departure from Barça at the end of the season, with the recent one coming from the club’s president Joan Laporta.
On March 22, Six Sports reported Laporta’s wish to retain Xavi as the club’s manager, but the 44-year-old’s recent remarks have now diffused all hopes.
“I’m grateful to the club, the president, Deco. But nothing is changing about my decision now,” Xavi said.
“There are no substantial changes, but the key word for me is thanks. I’m really grateful.”
Following Xavi’s announcement, Barcelona has gone on a 10-match unbeaten streak across all competitions, winning seven and drawing three.
