The Sweden Football Association has announced a friendly match between their senior men’s team and Serbia to commemorate the remarkable contributions of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Recall Zlatan pulled the curtain on his 24-year illustrious career last season, after winning major titles in the French, Spanish and Dutch leagues.

Following a brief hiatus post-retirement, the ex-Manchester United star assumed an advisory role with Milan’s ownership group, RedBird.

“Together we celebrate Zlatan Ibrahimović’s blue-and-yellow career!” his county’s FA statement reads.

“When the men’s national team meets Serbia on June 8 at 18:00 at the Friends Arena, the men’s national team’s top scorer will be there to receive the love of the blue and yellow supporters. At 10.00 on Tuesday, the tickets are released.

“Sweden is still at the beginning of a new blue-and-yellow era and the match against Serbia will be an important value gauge before the autumn competitive matches.”

Before he hung his boots, Zlatan scored 62 goals and registered 25 assists across 122 caps for Sweden.
