The NBA playoff bracket for 2024 is decided. Sunday’s action-packed afternoon of basketball marked the conclusion of the NBA regular season and the selection of fifteen different postseason seeds. Among the great winners of the day were the Oklahoma City Thunder, who secured home-court advantage and the top seed in the West heading into the conference finals. With a significant victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Phoenix Suns moved up to No. 6 in the West and were able to escape the Play-In Tournament. The Knicks defeated the Bulls in overtime to move up to the No. 2 spot in the East.

Despite starting the day as the second-seeded team in the East, the Orlando Magic easily defeated the Bucks. The Cavaliers also had a chance to secure the No. 2 seed, but they lost to the Hornets by 10 points in the end and lost most of its regular players. In the afternoon, the East’s 5-8 seeds remained in the same sequence after victories by the Magic, Pacers, Heat, and 76ers. The winner of Wednesday’s game between the 76ers and Heat advances to the Play-In Tournament and will take on the Knicks in the opening round.

The Lakers defeated the Pelicans in New Orleans on Sunday afternoon in the late slate to maintain their No. 8 ranking. Due to the Pelicans’ defeat, which pushed them behind the Suns, those two teams will play one other again on Tuesday in the Play-In Tournament. In the other West Play-In game, the Kings will face the Warriors in a rematch of their previous season’s first-round playoff series. The No. 7 and No. 8 seeds in each conference will be decided by the NBA’s Play-In Tournament. This week, the top six seeds will automatically qualify for postseason play, while the remaining four teams in each conference (the 7–10 seeds) will compete in the Play-In Tournament. The No. 7 seed will be decided by a match between the teams in seventh and eighth position. The teams ranked ninth and tenth will play one more game, and the No. 8 seed will be decided by the winner of the No. 9/No. 10 game against the loser of the No. 7/No. 8 game
