Prominent Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green acknowledges the positive impact the play-in tournament has had on the NBA even though he isn’t happy that his team needs to go through it to get to the playoffs.
“Just so you’re all aware, I detest the play-in. On this week’s episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green declared, “It’s the best thing ever created,” but first he remarked, “I absolutely hate it.” The play-in is the greatest invention ever made when you consider what it has accomplished for basketball.”
With a 46-36 record, the Warriors placed tenth in the Western Conference. To be eligible for the 8th position, they must defeat the ninth-seeded Sacramento Kings on Tuesday. After that, they will play the winner of the No. 7-8 game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans.
Green continued by saying that he thought the play-in tournament raised the NBA’s standard of competition, particularly as the regular season was coming to a finish.
