AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli refrains from confirming his future beyond the summer, urging reporters to exercise patience until the end of the season.
Pioli continues to face mounting scrutiny, following Milan’s Europa League quarter-final exit at the hands of Roma on Thursday.
Speculation in Italy suggested his dismissal at season’s end if he failed to secure a semi-final berth. In response to queries about his future after Milan’s loss to Roma, Pioli remained measured.
“Be patient and wait for the end of the season. At that point, the club and I will discuss it,” Pioli said, as quoted by Milannews.
“Assessments must be made at the end of the season even if results in Europe were worse than last term,” admitted Pioli.
“We still have the league, where we can do much better than last season.”
The 58-year-old added on Milan’s Derby della Madonnina with Inter on Monday, “We must change many things in the derby,” admitted Pioli.
“If we play as we did tonight [last night], we’ll surely have no chances. I think the guys are aware of it.”
